User Experience of BenQ G1 camera to engage online influencers
Backgound: BenQ globally launched BenQ G1, the world's slimmest F1.8 swivel screen camera. The company wished to generate online buzz and engage with photo and technology bloggers in the UAE for the launch of G1 in the region.

Challenge: This was BenQ Middle East's first user experience event for bloggers. Most bloggers were new to the world of BenQ products so the agency had to come up with creative ideas to make the event interesting.


PR Tactics: It was decided to host the event in tie up with Gulf Photo Plus, the photographer's community in the UAE, to generate interest from professional photographers. The event was hosted at GPP premises.

We engaged Dubai based Photographer Heather Chuter to test, review and present her experience of the camera at the event to the bloggers.

A mock up studio set up was organised with a model for a fashion shoot. As the model posed for the attendees, they tried out the camera taking pictures from various angles and lighting.


Results: 12 influential bloggers attended the event and wrote about their experience of the camera and uploaded pictures of the event on Facebook, Blog and Twitter.

These bloggers were then kept in loop for all future BenQ product launches. Competitions and campaigns were organised with the bloggers post event to create more visibility online for BenQ.
