PR and social media management for Italian Pavilion at GITEX

Backgound: Italian Trade Agency (ITA) appointed Iris PR to create awareness of Italian Startups participating at the region’s leading technology event GITEX in Dubai. With strong expertise in technology PR and digital and public relations experience for startups, fintech and trade associations, Iris PR was selected through a multi-pitch process.

Challenge: GITEX being a busy event with big name participation, Agency had to think of creative ways to gain attention of media and visitors for the Italian startups, most of them looking for funding.

PR Tactics: Develop key messages around technology ecosystem in the UAE and Italian Government’s support for the technology sector

Highlight stories of success and innovative technology by the startups

Pre and post event press releases were issued

Issued invitation to media to visit the Italian Pavilion

Media interviews were organized with IT/Business publications, IT reporters and TV channels

• A keen strategy was set for social media with daily stories, photos and video posts, interviews with participating companies, posts on Italian startups taking part in GITEX entrepreneurs competition, influencer engagements and reposts

Results: Coverage was generated in all leading publications like Gulf News, Tahawultech, Al Bayan,, Gulf News and others. TV interview was organized with Dubai One TV channel. Participating companies benefited from the PR exposure and social media highlights.
