ThyssenKrupp Access installs the highest chairlift in the world in Mecca Clock Tower, KSA
Background: ThyssenKrupp Access, one of the leading suppliers for platform lifts and chairlifts as well as Home Elevators, wanted to highlight its products and services in Middle East and Turkey following winning of the 2014 Project of the Year award by the ELEVATOR WORLD magazine for its successful installation of the highest chairlift in the world, in Abraj Al-Bait Towers, also known as the Mecca Royal Clock Tower Hotel - the world’s third tallest building.

Challenge: ThyssenKrupp Access had several objectives to the announcement. The main objective was to talk about the award and the achievement but also to highlight their projects and capabilities to generate interest in the region. The scope of target media was also extensive, ranging from trade media to consumer media focusing on senior citizens. Proper messaging, localisation for each market and media targeting was crucial to the project.

PR Tactics: The agency localised the messages for select GCC markets, Jordan and Turkey. Other local projects completed in KSA, Turkey and other countries were highlighted to generate local media interest.

Results: Coverage in KSA, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain and Turkey in key newspapers, magazines and websites were generated. Close to USD 300,000 worth of Editorial value was obtained through the announcement in multiple markets.
